Neon Audio Editor: Lightweight and Feature-Packed
Neon Audio Editor, developed by Limelight Software, is a versatile digital audio editor and recording plugin designed for iPhone. It is compatible with any AUv3 host and supports most major iOS file formats. With Neon, users can import audio from files or the system clipboard, as well as record incoming audio.
As an editor, Neon offers all the essential functionality one would expect, with the added ability to edit samples on a per-sample basis at extreme zoom levels. It also includes a range of built-in effects that can be applied to the entire file or a selection. Users can preview and tweak the effects before applying them.
One of Neon's standout features is its ability to function as a clip launcher within an AUv3 host. This allows users to remotely trigger one-shot or looped samples. Additionally, the Warp function automatically adjusts the tempo of a clip to match the host tempo without affecting pitch.
Neon also boasts a slicer feature, enabling users to cut up a sample into multiple slices that can be played back via an incoming MIDI controller. This adds a creative dimension to the editing process.
Other notable features of Neon include the ability to record directly from other plugins, drag-and-drop support between apps, and the option to export audio in various formats such as WAV, M4A, MP3, and FLAC. It also offers support for loading external AUv3 effects in standalone mode and integrates with popular audio management app AudioShare.
Please note that Neon imposes a 15-minute sample length limit on recordings due to its memory restrictions as an AUv3 plugin.
